National Museum of the Royal Navy Library catalogue

The catalogue of the NMRN has been uploaded to LibraryHub Discover (formerly COPAC).

Great War books are not a large percentage of the numbers but for what it's worth I have filtered them here: https://discover.libraryhub.jisc.ac.uk/search?q=held-by%3A+nmrn+subject%3A+world+war%2C+1914-1918

Not to be confused with the Admiralty Library of the Naval Historical Branch.

  • seaJane changed the title to National Museum of the Royal Navy Library catalogue

Thank you, sJ. However, this is probably a piece of academic librarianship of litttle use to the general public because NMRN and (presumably) its library is still closed to all external enquiries. There is nothing on the NMRN website to suggest that this dreadful policy decision has changed since it was implemented in December 2018.

I also find it astonishing that they have only 32 books on WW1.

You are not alone! But surely they must have more than just a perfunctory interest in the Great War period? (bearing in mind that they are custodians of both M.33 and HMS Caroline).

Thank, Sea Jane.  I have just strolled past my WW1 shelf and am now feeling a little superior.
