POW camp postcards

Hi,

I know this might be a long shot but is anyone able to help identify what I believe to be a WW1 POW camp from these postcards?

There is a hand written note suggesting it was East Germany or possibly Poland.

Thanks

GreyC,

Thank you very much! Now I know what to search for I have found lots of other picture and content on the forum.

I believe this was the camp my Great Grandfather was held in, we have always had a whole book of postcards but never knew which camp it was until now.

Best wishes

Steve

If your great grandfather was a POW

He should have a ICRC record  which can be searched for HERE

Thanks Ray, I had a very quick look but couldn't see his name, I will have a proper look tomorrow, although the search function doesn't seem the most user friendly.

Quite an understatement that is ;-)

I don't know your gr-grandfather's surname, but if you can't find him initially then try searching for different spellings of the same name. For example, the German name Maier would be filed with Meyer and Meier. Indexing was also done phonetically, so you could think about how a Francophone would pronounce the name.

Thank you! This week has been manic but will try and look over the weekend if it is quieter!
