t Werburgh, Blackwell Derbyshire Burial Records include a note ‘Died as a result of being gassed in France during the war’ for James Green who died 4 July 1919 aged 37yrs. (Page 40 No. 319)

There are some details on WFA Pension Records.

A photograph of the plot appears on Find a Grave https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/197866540/james-green

Haven’t found his details on CWGC - would getting death cert. be next move?

He's definitely not amongst the six war graves at St Werburgh's Churchyard. Unfortunately, none of the pension records I've found say if the gas poisoning was related to service, nor can I find a service record. It might depend entirely on what the DC says.

James Green is on the war memorial at Newton: https://derbyshirewarmemorials.com/b-over/643/643.html

Thank you - I agree and will send for the DC.

Additional reference - SWB shows his discharge as 24 January 1919.
