rolt968 Posted 18 April , 2021 Share Posted 18 April , 2021 Was Lance Percival in that? Wasn't he also in Up the Front? RM
Dai Bach y Sowldiwr Posted 18 April , 2021 Share Posted 18 April , 2021 I suppose I should have written "the sow", not "the swine". Mea culpa.

I think I'm on solid ground using the feminine singular.

Moonraker Posted 22 April , 2021 Author Share Posted 22 April , 2021 Ho Hum. It was about what I expected: a strange mix of songs, a hard-to-believe plot and harder-to-believe comedy. Some excellent aviation scenes and old cars, an uninspiring Rock Hudson. A great many people had been assembled for the short medal ceremony. As with "The Sound of Music", the Julie Andrews character sought to flee to Switzerland, but in the end didn't have to.

I'm afraid I fell alseep before the end. It was one of those films where you feel that the actors weren't all appearing in the same film (or at least had the same view of the type of film they were appearing in). Moonraker Posted 22 April , 2021 Author Share Posted 22 April , 2021 You sum it up well, RM. Started off with Julie singing in a theatre to rapturous applause, then suddenly switched to an aerial dogfight.
