Jon Shattock Posted 5 March , 2005 Share Posted 5 March , 2005 A conversation this morning got me thinking about whether different regiments or initial letters of surname had different rates of survival in WO363. Has anyone done any research on this or have any observations? As a starter, I was told this morning that there is a good chance of finding the papers of soldiers who served in the MGC and ASC. Chris_Baker Posted 5 March , 2005 Share Posted 5 March , 2005 Tom Tulloch-Marshall has some data that he has collected on this. I'm sure he will let us know the score if he reads this thread. In my own experience - now of searching for about 700 soldiers of all manner of regiments - I do not believe that there is any marked difference in the probability. It just SEEMS there are loads of ASC and Labour Corps men, as there were so many of them!
