GY402 Posted 4 March , 2005 Share Posted 4 March , 2005 Hi, I'm visiting Ypres(for the 1st time) on Fri March 18th-20th. Its a trip organised thru my works sports & social club(police). Be great if anyone else is likely to be threre that peruses this site. I have to say that having discovered this site in the last week, given that I have taken a healthy obsession in WW1,has been a revelation to me, that so many people have such an educated and sensitive interest in events between 1914-1918. It was my tutor constable who influenced me, and I'm glad to say he will be accompanying me on the trip. Staying at Novotel, and looking forward to a beer and an experience of a lifetime. GY402 Posted 5 March , 2005 Author Share Posted 5 March , 2005 You sussed me out Steve. Its the reg number of the MV Christian Borum. A seine netter my father owned and used to per trawl with out of Grimsby. He sold it several years ago and it is still fishing out of Scotland I beleive. It was named after me, as were all of our family's trawlers over the years.

GY402 Posted 6 March , 2005 Author Share Posted 6 March , 2005 Wow, interesting. Sounds like a middle or deep water trawler. My dads last boat, the Philip Borum, reg number was GY40. Yes the vessels are registered in Grimsby, Frank.
