Remembrances 2005

As last year, the Friends of the In Flanders Fields Museum will commemorate some soldiers and officers.

The aim of these remembrances is to mark our respect to some of the fatal casualties on the date of their death. Therefore the numerous anonymous names on the headstones are personalised.

We listen to his personal history (in Dutch) and pay our respect by laying a wreath and playing the Last Post (by 2 buglars of the Menin Gate).

Interesting; might be an idea to say why these particular men have been selected. I know why for three of them myself, but others probably are not so familiar with their names: the Scott brothers are not known to me. Perhaps a relative has requested them?

Paul,

Nothing in particular. In fact there are three times 2 brothers of the 28th Canadian Battalion killed on the 6th of June 1916. So 'a innocent hand' chose the Scott brothers just two 'normal' privates.
