Guest Bernard Plumier Posted 3 March , 2005 Share Posted 3 March , 2005 Hello to all members. I created a website with a specific review of dozens of books related to WW1. A lot of french books are included, with english comments. Hope you will enjoy discovering that part of History. Passion & Compassion 1914 1918 : follow the Union Jack flag Do you know whether a similar site exists for english books or german ones ? Regards, Bernard
Paul Reed Posted 4 March , 2005 Share Posted 4 March , 2005 Really nice site - very much welcome a bibliography of some French books on the Great War. I have put some details of books on my own site: http://battlefields1418.50megs.com/book_reviews.htm and http://battlefields1418.50megs.com/ww1_reading_lists.htm Hope you find that of some use. gem22 Posted 14 March , 2005 Share Posted 14 March , 2005 Bernard Thanks for posting details of your website- it looks good. As for similar sites about English books there was one owned by an American, Ed Lengll, but he closed it down a couple of years ago when he got a contract to publish a book about books, in English, based on letters, diaries and memoirs from the Great War. The book is available from Scarecrow Press. Garth
Guest Bernard Plumier Posted 23 March , 2005 Share Posted 23 March , 2005 Thank you all for those remarks. If you were to list the 10 - 20 best english speaking books treating the WWI, (witnesses, history, material, guides, novels), that I should own or read and enter in that database, what would be your advices ?
