mcfc1923 Posted 3 March , 2005 Share Posted 3 March , 2005 Trying to find out if ernest edward cole 11531 Hampshire Reg is on the 1919 army list. regards jim
rflory Posted 3 March , 2005 Share Posted 3 March , 2005 Army Lists only have information on officers and the fact that you have quoted a service number for Cole would seem to imply that he was an other rank rather than an officer. PhilB Posted 3 March , 2005 Share Posted 3 March , 2005 From a previous thread, there seems a possibility, Dick, that this man was commissioned just after the end of the war, which might account for the NCO rank and number on his WW1 medals but a photo of him as an Officer Cadet. Jim`s really looking for 2/Lt E.E.Cole! Phil B

rflory Posted 3 March , 2005 Share Posted 3 March , 2005 Phil and Jim: Thanx for the clarification. I was not aware that he was later an officer. I have an April and a December 1919 Army List at home and as soon as I get home from the University tonight I will look him up and get back to you. Regards.
