Chris Chris I had noticed that but one record shows 22nd Bn but seems to have been cancelled but the other record does not show a battalion His Proceedings on Discharge and Short Service records are on Ancestry within UK, British Army World War 1 Pension Records his unit was Depot with 1st Bn in brackets. When discharge on the 19th December 1915 at Chester. his intended place residence was the Waterford Lunatic Ayslum It also shows that he joined the 2nd battalion on 20th May 1904, posted to the 1st battalion on 12th November 1904. Transferred to the Army Reserve on the 5th April 1913. he was mobilised on 5th August 1914 and posted to the 1st Battalion on the 6th August 1914. thetrenchrat22 Posted 11 March , 2021 Share Posted 11 March , 2021 Chris, thank you for that, it would have seemed strange to have him recorded serving with a Battalion which was formed 3 months after his death Alan
