The following suicides were reported in the Yorkshire Evening Post on 2 August 1915:

I've looked but I can't find Dvr Hinchcliffe or Pte Alston on CWGC, nor can I find their death registrations or any other record. Posting them here in case someone else has a bit more luck.

Possibly, Hinchcliffe was, L/5887 Frederick Lawrence Illingworth, son of William and Jane Illingworth, of 27, Eldon St. North, Barnsley.

Good call, Soldier's Effects record says he died at Ripon on 31 July 1915. I wonder where "Hinchcliffe" came from?

Answering my own question with regards to "Alston", Soldier's Effects confirms that Pte William ALSFORD died from self inflicted wounds at West Hartlepool on 1 August 1915.
