Hi

My wife has had this for approx. 20 years and we have no idea what it was for. As the wife thinks its "Pretty" is it for a female?????

Overall length is 120mm height 55mm

Does anyone have an idea what it was for, it appears to be military.

Any help much appreciated.

Peter

Hi,

I believe that you have a nurses/sweetheart belt buckle in pressed brass metal onto which the regimental badge has been attached.

As stated previously, the regimental badge is likely that of the 15th, 15th/19th Hussars.

I found an image of a similar item with RAMC badge attached, it is believed that such items were often gifted by soldiers to the nurses who had cared for them and carry the regimental badge of the soldier -
