Guest jumberly Posted 1 March , 2005 Share Posted 1 March , 2005 Can Anyone tell me what the 1st Border were doing in/around Ypres in August 1917? Specifically about the 15th/16th August? There seems little or nothing I can find. I believe they were part of the 29th Div. So that would put them in the middle of Third Ypres? Any help would be great. CROONAERT Posted 1 March , 2005 Share Posted 1 March , 2005 On 15th August, they were attacking from east of the Steenbeek, through Martin's Mill, Passerelles Farm and Wijdendrift. The afternoon of this day was spent consolidating the newly aquired positions. They were relieved on the night of the 16th August. Dave.
Guest jumberly Posted 1 March , 2005 Share Posted 1 March , 2005 Blimey that was quick. Is there anything you don't know! Got to say I'm very impressed. Thanks very much. My great uncle was killed (missing) on the 16th and I've just started looking into it. Many thanks Dave. Dave
