Need some help, confirmation of my interpretation of the MIC below.

I think this is 1st Garrison Battalion North Staffordshire, do you agree ?

If so, does anyone have an idea if a War Diary exists for this battalion, have searched the usual sources with no luck.

TIA.

Yes, I’d agree 1st (Garrison) Bn North Staffordshire Rgt.

They went to France during May 1916, they then became the 13th (Garrison) Bn on 31st July 1918. Had a quick look at NA but couldn’t find a WD, I’ll have another look when not using a phone

Garrison Battalions were made up of soldiers unfit for front line duty. They were therefore not considered to be in a War situation, so there are no War Diaries.

For some information, see the FIBIS Fibiwiki page First World War

https://wiki.fibis.org/w/First_World_War#Garrison_Battalions

The content is about Garrison Battalions In India, but applies to Garrison Battalions generally.
