alantwo Posted 9 January , 2021 Share Posted 9 January , 2021 I came across the images below in the 9th Corps ADMS War Diary and post for the interest of forum members. I have seen the Peninsula Press previously but not The Dardanelles Driveller. The originals can be found via Ancestry.co.uk - UK, World War I War Diaries (Gallipoli and Dardanelles), 1914-1916 Alan

emrezmen Posted 9 January , 2021 Share Posted 9 January , 2021 Thanks for sharing Alan. This is where the famous "Y Beach" poem first "published," I presume.
alantwo Posted 10 January , 2021 Author Share Posted 10 January , 2021 Michael and Emre Thanks for your posts. It’s the first time I’d heard of it Michael and an oddity in the file, funny how we keep these things. As for the poem, given the dates of the landings and publication I think you must right Emre, although I guess it will remain ‘Anon’. Perhaps if authorship was claimed later someone could let me know. Best wishes to you both, hopefully everyone will have a better 2021.
