andrew pugh Posted 8 January , 2021 Share Posted 8 January , 2021 Good Morning Hope you are all safe and well. How would a R.A.M.C man become attached to the 2nd Bn Ox & Buck's Light Infantry during March 1918. In what capacity would he have been attached, and what R A M C unit would he have originally come from? I know that the 2nd Ox & Buck's were part of 5th Brigade, 2nd Division at that time. Your help would be most welcome. Kind Regards Andy Pugh
alf mcm Posted 8 January , 2021 Share Posted 8 January , 2021 Andrew, Each infantry battalion had {in theory} a Corporal and 4 Privates attached from RAMC for sanitary and clean water duties. See LLT here http://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/army/definitions-of-units/what-was-a-battalion-of-infantry/ Regards, Alf McM
