Hi. I am researching 23656 Pte John Parle who was KIA 4th November with the 1st Battalion. The small information i have  is that he only enlisted in April 1918 and was killed by a shell however i do not know where the Battalion was serving when he was killed .

The Brigade War Diary has the Battalion at the main road L.34.d.5.9 to L.35.c.0.0 at 0001 on 4 Nov 1918. Bottom right of this map http://digitalarchive.mcmaster.ca/islandora/object/macrepo%3A4348/-/collection

Many Thanks for the information. Was he killed at the end of the Battle of Valenciennes. or was it during the Battle of the Sambre.
