Has anyone got a copy of No:11 Casualty Clearing Station War Diary (Admission Records) for June/July of 1917, not yet available to download from TNA ??

Being an impatient sod, cannot wait until open again, whenever that may be !

TIA.

  • MERLINV12 changed the title to No:11 Casualty Clearing Station - War Diary (Admission Records) 1917

The reading rooms are still open. See today's update on the TNA website.

Which is this:   (Posts on websites have a nasty habit of disappearing)

Reading room services have resumed

Tuesday 15 December 2020

Following yesterday’s announcement that London will move to Tier 3: Very High alert level from 16 December, we are happy to confirm that we are able to keep our reading rooms open for pre-booked visitors.

All visitors must continue to book their visit and order their documents in advance. We are offering greater capacity in our reading rooms, with more documents per visitor and a greater choice of bookable dates, including Saturdays.

We release bookings on a weekly basis, on Mondays at 12:00 (midday).

Book your visit here (external website).

While we continue to assess demand, and because we want to give as many people the chance to access records as possible, we’re imposing a reasonable limit on the number of visits you can book – you’ll be able to book up to two visits in a rolling four-week period. We’re reviewing this regularly with a view to increasing the limit as soon as we can.

We will continue to do all we can to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff, and encourage all visitors to refer to government guidance relating to local COVID alert levels and how travel restrictions might affect your visit – this applies to any areas you might need to travel through, as well as the areas you are travelling to and from.

We are currently unable to offer some of our regular services, including access to our reference library and our exhibition spaces. We are also unable to offer record copying in our reading rooms, although our online record copying service is now available. Our paid search service remains suspended.

All of these arrangements are subject to change at short notice, due to factors outside our control. Please check our website or social media for further updates.

Are these Admission Records something separate to the unit diary?

11 CCS diary Apr 1916 - April 1918 is available as a digital download.

Just looked at June/July 1917 and don't see anything detailing admissions beyond a daily total.

Admission Records are separate, in MH 106 at TNA.

Since posting I have got a copy of the relevant register, now to work out what the wound classification means, not one of the usual ones ! (will start a topic in the correct  place).

I have war diary, but thanks for checking.

Have you discovered the list of wounds classification inside the front covers of the MH106 ledger ?
