RNCVR Posted 1 December , 2020 Share Posted 1 December , 2020 If you are a member of the British Medals Forum you could put an advert for his missing medals on there, but you may require a minimum number of posts to do that. If you are not a member its easy to register & join. You may get lucky & a collector may have his campaign medals in their collection, missing medals do get found! adrian 1008 Posted 1 December , 2020 Author Share Posted 1 December , 2020 Thank you Bryan, have just joined, also have them listed in medal news. It would be great to reunite, GWF colleagues have been fabulous in assisting in this jigsaw
RNCVR Posted 1 December , 2020 Share Posted 1 December , 2020 You may yet get lucky Adrian , its happened many times in past, there are many success stories of reunites on the medal forum. Be a nice group if you are able to achieve a reunion! Do you have details for his MC? If you post his name here a mate(s) will surely come along & assist you, his award may have had a citation. adrian 1008 Posted 1 December , 2020 Author Share Posted 1 December , 2020 I ve posted under Soldiers and their Units and have had a great response many missing pieces They also helped with an apparently "unresearchable" MM group, leading me to a newspaper cutting and citation
RNCVR Posted 1 December , 2020 Share Posted 1 December , 2020 Yes I just picked up on your post Adrian, you asked about a possibility of an LS medal there. I doubt he qualified for one, in his time officers were not eligible for the LS medal. He would have required 18 yrs service as an OR to qualify.
