caulkheader Posted 13 November , 2020 Share Posted 13 November , 2020 (edited) Evening. I am trying to find out what I can about Hospital Ship Brighton. My interest is I am researching a Captain W.C. Blackham [RAMC] who, at some point was serving on her [14/15 Star register refers]. In particular, things like did she remain in 'home' waters or did she go to Gallipoli etc. Thanks in advance. T. caulkheader Posted 14 November , 2020 Author Share Posted 14 November , 2020 Dave Pretty well got that much (but thanks anyway) albeit from other sources. Unless I just don’t know the right place to look, there does seem to be a dearth of info on this aspect of the war. Happy to be proved wrong though, anyone? David26 Posted 15 November , 2020 Share Posted 15 November , 2020 T, I have three mentions in the records of men I've researched stating that they were evacuated on the 'Brighton'. All were sailings from France to the UK, and the sailing dates were 3 October 1916, 15 September 1917 and 20 April 1918. The last of these specified that the voyage was from Boulogne to Dover. The 'Brighton' is not mentioned in Stephen McGreal's "The War on Hospital Ships 1914-1918". Hope that may help, David.
