Remembered Today:

Poem for Remembrance

Remember me fondly

If I should not come home

Remember me fondly.

Build no shrine nor Altar

To honour my passing.

Just think of me as I was,

One more  sinner among the many;

Not what some might have wanted me to be.

Of those that I knew and loved,

Some may miss me, some may not.

Some  will think of days we spent,

Others find friends anew

To walk the places we loved;

And sing and dance and play

As once we did for we were young.

Don’t mourn for me too deeply,

Though I shall miss you too.

Wherever  I lie in this foreign land

I shall rest at peace.

Remember me fondly,

Think of me often,

But live your life as you will.
