CWGC added the following casualties to the WW1 War Dead Roll today.

 

FRANKS, Fred

Private  24709

49 Bn, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry)

Died 03.06.20  Age 36

Commemorated: United Kingdom Book of Remembrance *

 

GRIMES, James

Private  39183

15 Coy, Labour Corps

Died 21.06.20  Age 45

Commemorated: United Kingdom Book of Remembrance

 

TAYLOR, Richard Holt

Private  22021

1 Bn, East Lancashire Regiment

Died 01.07.16  Age 22

Commemorated: Thiepval Memorial, France

 

NOT FORGOTTEN

 

The above were In From the Cold Project cases.

An asterisk means that the grave site is known and is awaiting verification by CWGC.

 

- Pte Franks died post-discharge of heart disease (Volunteer: Graham Sacker)

- Pte Grimes died post-discharge of bronchitis and asthma (Volunteer: Heidi Sandford)

- Pte Taylor was killed in action (Volunteer: Ian Cameron)

What evidence did you supply then.

 

Now there is the SER and WFA pension record which wouldn't have been available then online.
