Hello

Can anyone tell me where I can get a copy of Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers 1st Bn War Diaries 1914- March 1916? I can see Kew have the war diaries from March 1916 but I can't see any before then.

Thanks

Long Long Trail shows that:-

1st Battalion
August 1914 : in Trimulgherry, Secunderabad, India.
Recalled to UK and landed at Avonmouth on 10 January 1915.
10 January 1915 : came under command of 87th Brigade in 29th Division. Moved to Rugby.
March 1915 : sailed, going via Egypt, and landed at Cape Helles, Gallipoli, on 25 April 1915.
January 1916 : evacuated from Gallipoli to Egypt.
18 March 1916 : landed at Marseilles for service in France.

So might not be one before April 1915.

For their time at Gallipoli they will be available on Ancestry only.

Unless the Gallipoli ones over-run or the ones for France start early, the the period when they were in Egypt may not be available on line at all.

Hope that helps,

Peter
