weejock Posted 25 February , 2005 Share Posted 25 February , 2005 A friend of mines has found her fathers birthlines from 1917 and it states his father as "11230 Sjt James Ellis, 60th TRB. occupation, Bandsman. Can anyone tell us what regiment or unit the 60th TRB was? John Todd

Paul Reed Posted 25 February , 2005 Share Posted 25 February , 2005 It's a Training Reserve Battalion. Have a look below for an article on them: http://medalsfinder.bei.t-online.de/Traini...201916-1918.pdf
weejock Posted 25 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 25 February , 2005 Thanks for the info...another couple of questions though!! If it was a Training Reserve Battallion what would a Band serjeant be doing there? (other than training!), would he later have been tranferred to another regiment? and where can we find out about the 60th TRB. thanks again
