stiletto_33853 Posted 25 February , 2005 Share Posted 25 February , 2005 Hi Teresa, He was a Company Quarter Master Sergeant and a Colour Sergeant, Regimental Number 9791 in the Kings Royal Lancaster Regiment. He was in the First World War and was entitled to the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. He stayed in the service after the First World War as under Army Order 150 of 1924 he was awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. Hope this helps a little. Michael Posted 25 February , 2005 Share Posted 25 February , 2005 Theresa I believe that the characters EM.... on the bottom left indicate that he was mentioned in dispatches and awarded oak leaves to be attached to his Victory Medal ribbon.
