Jamie Harvey Posted 6 October , 2020 Share Posted 6 October , 2020 Hi everyone, If anyone is heading towards Niederzwehren Cemetery, I would be beyond grateful if you could take a couple of pictures of my Great Grandfather Pte. George WAKEFIELD? All the required details are as attached, anything I can do as thanks, please let me know. Many thanks Jamie
temptage Posted 6 October , 2020 Share Posted 6 October , 2020 You could try contacting Fritz who has previously provided photos from Niederzwehren, but he does live about 130 miles away. He used to visit 3 or 4 times a year, whether he still does or not, I dont know. Someone else who you could try contacting, who I have had previous help from is a man called Dr Timo Kirschberger who lives and works in Kassel. If you search for him on t'interweb, there are contact details for him on several websites.
charlie2 Posted 6 October , 2020 Share Posted 6 October , 2020 I will be passing Niederzwehren either this weekend or next. If no-one else helps in the meantime I‘ll stop off and take your photos. Charlie

chaz Posted 12 October , 2020 Share Posted 12 October , 2020 Thanks Charlie, yes I would like to get over one day to see him. I've been to one brother's with his medals and a cousin's grave. It was a slog but I've got them now. I am sure I know where the cousins medals are, still with the family but as for the other 5 brothers maybe one day i hope. The bank balance took a hit but nightshift allowance helped..
