johntaylor Posted 7 October , 2020 Share Posted 7 October , 2020 This is a really good find Maureen, many thanks. The final URL you've given ( https://www.nzsappers.org.nz/introduction/heritage-material/ ) includes lots of other interesting WWI material, including a full wartime run of the Royal Engineers Journal. All the best, John
Ron Clifton Posted 7 October , 2020 Share Posted 7 October , 2020 I actually have hard copies of the three volumes mentioned by Maureene. I see that the site has also started to hold copies of some volumes of the series "The Work of the RE in The European War, 1914-1919". There are four volumes there so far, and a fifth, Priestley's "The Signal Service (France)" is available elsewhere on the Internet. These volumes were originally published in the early 1920s and I hope that they continue with the remaining volumes. Ron

What I found more interesting was the postwar run with many articles published in the 20's that no longer needed censoring. But I have noted that there are sometimes pages missing in the scanning process -typically in an article that particularly interested me. Thanks Maureen for the link. Terry_Reeves Posted 7 October , 2020 Share Posted 7 October , 2020 Maureen, Thanks for the post, very interesting indeed. I am a member of the Institute of Royal Engineers and I'm sure they would be interested in this as would the RE Historical Society who have a page an Facebook. Charlie I see what you mean - I had a quick look and there are lots of fascinating articles, including a very useful list of which RE units took part in which battles, running from 1925-1926.
