Thanks for sharing that Kevin; fascinating. I thought this bit, from the man himself, was brilliant:

In the old days, it seemed awfully hard when any of our pals got killed, because we couldn't see any return for it.

But now they have made possible the peace which is being won.

So I hope that rather than being a day of sorrow, it will be a day of thankfulness that the boys did all anyone can do for all they loved and for England.

It's not just a question of how long one lives, but of how much use we make of our lives and those who don't come back have done their full share in this world.

Thanks for sharing this one. For me, it has local significance.

Don't know whether it affects anyone else, but whenever I open this link a pop-up takes me to an offer of mortgage. Irritating.
