Gary W Posted 28 September , 2020 Share Posted 28 September , 2020 Below is my great great uncle's RN service record. I am struggling to identify the 'ship' listed below between Excellent and Victorious. Any suggestions ?
horatio2 Posted 28 September , 2020 Share Posted 28 September , 2020 (edited) HMS ZARIA. She was originally a store carrier (RFA) but became a depot ship for boats of the Auxiliary Patrol in early 1915, based in the Okney Islands. She moved around the Northern Isles during WW1 but was at Scapa Flow 1918-19. She was relieved as a depot ship by HMS VICTORIOUS in February 1919. http://www.historicalrfa.org/requisitioned-auxiliaries/179-requisitioned-auxiliaries-x-y-z/1411-requisitioned-auxiliary-zaria Edited 28 September , 2020 by horatio2
