stewart scott Posted 25 September , 2020 Share Posted 25 September , 2020 October 2019 a Red Cross medal and associated ephemera to a Phoebe Ellwood, VAD Nurse at Woodhall Spa and Horncastle hospitals during WW1 was sold at auction and bought by a dealer. This dealer then sold the items on e-bay. Unfortunately, I was not able to afford the asking price (having just bought her brother Charles's medals, etc, from the same auction). I am interested in one of the letters (image attached) which was sent to Phoebe by her brother Arthur, a captain in the same Battn as Charles, and also a 'verifiable' photo of Phoebe (I have many family photos including several of nurses, but as is often the case, none are identified/captioned), again, there being several photos in the Lot, in order to help with my research on brother Charles - which I hope will culminate in a small publication (a not-for-profit project I hasten to add!). If the buyer of that e-bay Lot sees this post I would be most grateful to discuss with them. Thank you. Stewart
