Hi there is lots of info on Festubert and Givenchy in May-June 1915 but not much for the Nov-Dec 1914 period. I would be glad of any pointers on books or any info on the Batts that were present. If I have it right the Batts present were the

1st Queens - 17th Royal Fusiliers -24th Royal Fusiliers - 7th Kings - 2cd Royal Inniskilings - 2cd Worcs - 2cd Ox and Bucks - 9th HLI - 2cd Connought Rangers-

2cd HLI.

Have tried all the the search engines with out any success hope you can help.

Two Ballymena men were killed at Festubert, but none in your timeframe:

1 Seaforth Highlanders - 16 Aug 1915

2 Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers - 16 May 1915

Hi,

I believe the 5th Division was holding from south of the La Bassee Canal at Ponte Fixe with the 1st Dorsets and the 1st Bedfordshire Regiment had relieved French troops in Givenchy on the 11th or 12th October. The division held this sector until the end of the month when the Indian Meerut Division relieved it.

Hope this helps you out.

Regards.

John

7th Kings

7th King's didn't arrive in France until March 1915. 2nd and 9th HLI arrived in the area you mention at end of Dec. (relieving and being relieved by 2/OBLI).

Dave.
