mcfc1923 Posted 23 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 23 February , 2005 Hi woody, i came across that one but assumed it can't be him because it didn't have the 6 digit number (203231) so this is the man then? cheers Woody much appreciated jim
Raster Scanning Posted 29 March , 2005 Share Posted 29 March , 2005 Yes, this will be the man. It appears that he was a territorial. All territorial numbers were changed to 6 digits in 1917 (March 1st). I suspect the numbers you have are pre and post this changeover. Cheers Hi woody, i came across that one but assumed it can't be him because it didn't have the 6 digit number (203231) so this is the man then? cheers Woody much appreciated jim <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Stebie9173 Posted 29 March , 2005 Share Posted 29 March , 2005 If i'm reading this site properly : http://www.tf.1914-1918.net/TF_renumbering_infantry.htm then he would have been 4th Devonshire TF, serving in Egypt and possibly Mesopotamia. Here's the link to the Devonshire's page on the Long, Long Trail. http://www.1914-1918.net/devons.htm Steve.

So it's going to be a nice bit of research. many thanks indeed pals Jim
