2 Groups of Soldiers

Hi Pals

I have just been sent photos of two groups of soldiers by a cousin of mine and she thought the first one was of some ASC soldiers and included my Great Uncle Fred but I don't recognise him in the photo. I was wondering if any pals out there could help identify the soldier'sregiment as it would help try to ID a possible relative in the photos.

Thanks for any possible help

Matt,

I cannot help you with your query, but I am sure other pals will be able to do so.

This just to say how I was struck by the youthful appearance of the lad sitting in the middle of the front row. 14 to 15 years old?

Difficult to say - the scan isn't clear enough. It could easily be Essex Regiment, but might also be South Wales Borderers? Can you do a close up scan of one of the soldiers?

tonycad...I think the boy in the front row is wearing a drummers badge on his right sleeve. That might explain his youth.

Thanks for the replies, I will ask my cousin ifshe can do a close up scan of one of the soldiers in each of the pictures.

Yeah I thought the lad in the front was a bit young looking, I assume that these photos would have been taken during training in England.
