Following a recent trip to these wonderful counties, I took the opportunity to capture a few of the local War Memorials:-

As always, please feel free to take what images you want.

Cowlinge has a traditional war memorial, rather precariously placed at the centre of the road junction of Queens Street with Tillbrook Hill. The memorial was unveiled and dedicated on Sunday, March 6th 1921. Lieut-General Sir Charles Briggs KCB, KCMG unveiled the memorial, which was built by F.H.Goddard. A report was published in the Bury and Norwich Post on 18 March 1921

The memorial was moved from its original location to allow changes in the road network. in 2002 a grant was issued to maintain the memorial and clean it, however some of the plaques today are worn unfortunately.
