The Morecambe and Heysham War Memorial stands in pride of place on the Promenade in Morecambe, Lancashire.

The war memorial, made of bronze and granite, was completed in 1921 and designed by Thomas Hayton Mawson. A bronze lion sits atop a stepped base. On 20 January 1993 the monument was registered as a Grade II structure.

Good post KB; I nearly missed it. The memorial is not my cup of tea from an artistic point of view in comparison to some of the others you have posted, but I may be being unduly harsh. Hope all is well with you.

Pete.
