BEF Battalion Reorganization 1916/17

While Solly-Flood was working on the 'Platoon Tactics' that became SS 143 in February 1917 others were also engaged in this process during the winter of 1916/17.  An example of this is found in relation to the Fourth Army in a document in the Guards Division War Diary of December 1916 (WO 95/1192/5).  I have attached the 12 December, 1916 document below along with a diagram from SS 143 to compare with the diagram in the former.
