Hi,can any one tell me where i would find a list of some sort or info of british soldiers that have been awarded the croix de guerre medal.thanks in advance

As far as I know, the only place to find that information is in the London Gazette and that would take some time. Some of us who are specialists in particular regiments hold that information for those regiments. Are you looking for a particular name? Dick

Hi,i believe my grandfather (joseph Connor) was awarded the croix de geurre in france.He was a sargeant of a MGC and a private with the royal lacaster regiment.I would really like to find out where and why he got this medal,thank you

Well, here's WHEN he was awarded it:

18754 CONNER JOSEPH SJT CROIX DE GUERRE FRANCE

London Gazette 29/01/1919

Serving with 63 BN MGC

Hi Drew

At the time of the award, he was with 63rd (Royal Naval) Division, see the main site for more details I've copied this line:

No 63 Machine Gun Battalion (formed 1 March 1918)

Hi Fred youve been a big help.thanks.So the 63rd battalion MGC was attatched to the 63rd Royal naval division correct?
