BeppoSapone Posted 19 February , 2005 Share Posted 19 February , 2005 Here are the identity discs of 12566 Private C Preston of the Lancashire Fusiliers. Ordinary string was not patriotic enough, so he has used red, white and blue string!
Joe Sweeney Posted 20 February , 2005 Share Posted 20 February , 2005 Tony, Nice set. By the time the 3 or 4 ongoing threads with ID tag themes are finished this forum will have a very good photographic sample of British/Commonwealth tags and their variations. BeppoSapone Posted 20 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 20 February , 2005 I had another look at these tags before I put them away. As stated above the green disc simply says "Lancashire Fusiliers". However the, possibly older, red disc says "16 Lancashire Fusiliers" So, The "Patriots Progress" took him to 16th (Service) Bn (2nd Salford) , the Lancashire Fusiliers, 32nd Division.
