Remembered Today:

RE Uniform badges

Raster Scanning

Recommended Posts

This is a picture of a RE signaller taken from a group picture entitled "R.E. Telegraphist School Shefford".

The picture was taken in January 1915.

Has anyone got an idea as to what the arm badges this man is wearing denote?

Many thanks.

John

Here is the entire picture, My Gt Uncle, John Wainwright is included (far left back row). His Gallipoli diary is included in the "Ordinary heroes" section of the mother site.

Amazingly, through the inclusion of the diary on this site, I have come into contact with the Australian Grandson of someone who served with him.

In addition, his grandfather also kept a diary that mirrors my Gt Uncles entries and even mentions him by name.

Now that to me is incredible. There is no way we would have ever got together without this forum.

Cheers

PS Shefford is in Bedfordshire.
