This was found on the Somme and I think it’s brass but it’s some tube by the look of it. The hole goes all the way through and there is no markings that I can see. Does anybody know what it could be?

SMLE oilbottle?

A definite no, dimensions and overall shape incorrect.

Having said that, I have no idea what it could be.

Bit of a vehicle brake- or fuel pipe?

Looks like the central tube from a shrapnel shell,  between the base of the fuze and the bursting charge.

That’s what I though it may be, thank you.
