BillyH Posted 11 May , 2020 Share Posted 11 May , 2020 (edited) I am well used to seeing references to Paragraph 392 of Army Regulations on Silver War Badge records, and all of the sub paragraphs from 'i' to 'xxviii' - but the one below has me beaten. Can anyone please explain what it means? BillyH. Edited 11 May , 2020 by BillyH
Admin DavidOwen Posted 11 May , 2020 Admin Share Posted 11 May , 2020 Here you go, refers to Silver War badges http://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/soldiers/a-soldiers-life-1914-1918/demobilisation-and-discharge/soldier-discharged-o-2b-10-8-1917/
BillyH Posted 11 May , 2020 Author Share Posted 11 May , 2020 (edited) Thanks for the LLT link, which partly helps, but in my case the 'AO II' doesn't add the letter a - f which would explain the reason. After reading the LLT page though it has to be due to sickness rather than wounds? BillyH. ps/edit : WHY on earth does the system insist on underlining the LLT above? MaxD Posted 11 May , 2020 Share Posted 11 May , 2020 The line is reading Para 2 A I (should be 2 (a) (i) of AO II (should be 11 dated (d) 10.8.17 - disablement or health, both covered in the same sub sub para max

There are a number of abbreviations used on the forum such as that one and MIC for example which new members may not be familiar with. Hence if you hover your cursor over them the full description is revealed. I agree with MaxD that the para reference is in front of the order details. Edit: and with that demonstration I have discovered the spelling error on the MIC one, will get it corrected!
Terry_Reeves Posted 11 May , 2020 Share Posted 11 May , 2020 This the best resource for it. It also traces the changes: http://www.military-researcher.co.uk. The site owner, Forrest Anderson, was a first rate researcher who retired a while ago but has left his website open. TR
