Hi there,

My Great Uncle, Lt Horace Edward Howes was a pre war regular soldier in the DCLI. Horace landed in France with the 2nd Battalion as a CQMS on the 20/12/1914 and on the 11/01/1917 was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant for "Services in the field" from Company Sergeant Major. He joined 1st Battalion DCLI in January 1917 and appears to have served with them until the Armistice having been made a full Lieutenant on the 11/07/1918.

If anyone has a copy of the DCLI official history I would appreciate it if someone could take a look to see if he is mentioned?

Cheers,

D
