3rd (London) Field Company ~ Royal Engineers

Hi all,

 

My uncle served with this unit from 1914-1918 ... 1092 later 550215 Spr J. P. Daniel.

 

Shows that he went to France on 19.01.1915 according to his MiC.

 

Trying to obtain diaries for this unit before April 1915 ... I have the unit diary for 3/517 from April 1915 onwards.

 

Any help or information in general on this unit would be most welcome.

 

Believe he originally enlisted with 2/3 London Fd Coy RE but due to his date of travel I presume he was drafted to 1/3 London Fd Coy RE

For elimination purposes, I have the unit history for 2/3 London Field Company. It has, amongst other things, the nominal roll of all those who went overseas with the company. Sapper Daniel was not with them.
