Brigade Diaries Border Regiment ?

Hi folks I am wondering if any body can assist a numpty here please ?

I hope I'm not talking a load of rubbish here but somewhere in my tiny brain I am sure that I have heard that you can find Brigade diaries ? that can give you a bit more information on a regiment. I have every Border regiment diary but I am wondering if there are any other diaries I can find, I am especially keen on the 5th Bn Border regiment so hopefully I haven't just made this all up in my tiny brain ?

I am on Ancestry so if we can do this on the forum any links would be great but if not I'll browse the Archives.

Regards Mike.

The 5th seem to have moved about a bit but for clarity here is the link to the Headquarters 151st Brigade on Ancestry as they were in that Brigade for the longest period.

 151 Brigade War Diary

Best tactic

Go to War Diary Home Page on Ancestry

On right hand side Browse Regiment or Unit  Scroll Down to Find ‘Various Infantry Brigades (50th Division)’

in box Regiment enter 50th Division and each Brigade’s Headquarters Diary is listed

(Also useful to check for Brigade units e.g. MG Companies)

Alternatively go to TNA and identify reference then enter in this case ‘2838’ in the keyword box. Ignore the WO reference.

You’re welcome,

I thought the  artwork on p100 (Ancestry) of the 151 Brigade diary  was interesting, if atypical

According to LLT the 1/5th Border Regiment transferred from 149th to 151st Brigade on 20 December 1915 and remained with them until 12 February 1918.

I thought you could look for the others  👍
