Steve.

From the O.H., this map shows the British frontline on 12th April (solid line) and at nightfall on the 24th/25th (broken line).

;) Cheers Dave ,

would you know what date approx the British took Orange Hill ? I've been told that the 16th Middlesex may have been involved in the battle for this hill - would you know if this is correct ? Many thanks ,

Steve .

I think it was April 9th 1917. The 16th Middlesex didn't have any part in this as they didn't take part in any actions here untill 14th April when they relieved the 2nd Hampshires in Monchy.

The Middlesex battalion that actually did take some part in the capture was the 4th Battalion when they were in support of the 8th Somersets and the 8th Lincolns.
