Boreenatra Posted 13 February , 2005 Share Posted 13 February , 2005 Dear all.I know this topic has been covered before, but can anyone tell me if all DMP'S were inscribed with names on. My mother in law says she remembers a DMP in her grandmothers kitchen but says that the oblong in the front was blank. Our man died while he was on reserve duty in an Irish barracks in 1915 so he in actual fact " died at home". Would this have made any difference as to whether he qualified to receive one.At this time we do not know the cause of his death. Any thoughts appreciated.Regards Steve. per ardua per mare per terram Posted 14 February , 2005 Share Posted 14 February , 2005 Steve, Has the plaque been polished? 90 years of brasso can wear away the name! Fred

Boreenatra Posted 14 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 14 February , 2005 Dear Fred &Terry. Many thanks for your reply. My M-I-L says that as a girl in the late 1920's she remembers the DMP but it had no name on it. Were they ever issued without names? Regards Steve P.S..Anybody have any information about the Royal Munster Fusilier Barracks in Tralee Co. Kerry circa 1915.
