ejwalshe Posted 19 March , 2020 Share Posted 19 March , 2020 T.E. Lawrence & The Arab Revolt - Part I, photos by T.E. Lawrence. Colonel Thomas Edward Lawrence, CB, DSO was a British archaeologist, army officer, aircraftman, diplomat, and writer. 'Lawrence of Arabia' was directly involved in the Arab Revolt and Palestine Campaign of the Great War. Actor Peter O'Toole, bearing an uncanny resemblance to Lawrence, portrayed him in the epic British film Lawrence of Arabia by Sam Spiegel. Shunning fame and notoriety following the war, and beginning in 1922, Lawrence served for many years in the Royal Air Force, and then with the British Army under an assumed name. He was killed in a motorcycle accident at Dorset in 1935.
