familyfriend Posted 12 February , 2005 Share Posted 12 February , 2005 Terry, Brilliant photo. Do you know how they all came together for the shot? It intriges me. Paul.
DrB Posted 12 February , 2005 Share Posted 12 February , 2005 I would be willing to bet it is a propoganda picture showing the different nationalities being held prisoner by the Germans. DrB
Landsturm Posted 12 February , 2005 Share Posted 12 February , 2005 Germans often displayed different nationalities in their POW-camp photos, they can be found all around the Net. Some photo captions suggest that Germans already felt superiority over these "lesser races", an attitude which played a more important part in Second World War. familyfriend Posted 12 February , 2005 Share Posted 12 February , 2005 Thank-you DrB and Landsturm, That is an angle that I would not have thought of. Where could I find some more images on the net? Paul.
Landsturm Posted 13 February , 2005 Share Posted 13 February , 2005 I`d recommend one of my personal favourite source-pages The Great War in a Different Light it has many stories and image galleries. And there`s a section for prisoners of war too...
