Butt markers , disks

Recommended Posts

Morning all , I have two SMLEs with butt markers/disks and I wonder if anyone has knowledge of what these mean.

The first is a 1912 rifle with a marker that is stamped MSG 35.

And the second is a 1915 rifle that was later converted to 22 the marker is OTC ALN 2

many thanks for looking

Are you sure it is MSG? MSC is listed as Medical Staff Corps in the original abbreviations.

In the 1932 regs for Officer Training Corps ALN is listed (but not in the original ones). It is Alleyn's School, Dulwich, London.

Cheers,

Tony
