ErnieNoakes Posted 10 February , 2005 Share Posted 10 February , 2005 If anyone has a copy of the 1st. Bn. War Diary I would be extremely grateful to know the name of the officer mentioned on 19/06/1917. The name is obliterated on my copy, I need it for an Index. ErnieNoakes Posted 10 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 10 February , 2005 Thanks for the reply enoch. On closer examination 3 officers are mentioned on 19/06/1917. "Reinforced by Lieut. R. T********* & 2/Lieut S.H. Houle. Lieut. W.R. English-Murphy rejoined from Base Depot." Does Jeff's index list anyone else? Regards, Ernie

ErnieNoakes Posted 12 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 12 February , 2005 Thanks a lot Enoch. That accords with data I've just found from Chris. Out of curiosity can you e-mail me a small extract from Jeff's index (as an example)?

ErnieNoakes Posted 12 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 12 February , 2005 Enoch don't got to any trouble. I know jeff compiled an index, but I've never seen it. I'm just plowing through my copy of the diary and putting names, places and dates on a database, and I wondered how Jeff had organised his index, that's all. ErnieNoakes Posted 14 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 14 February , 2005 Thanks Enoch, I assumed from your info it was probably somethig like that. I am not planning to include remarks. The intention is to place individuals in the diary and to place the battalion at night. Regards, Ernie
Chris_Baker Posted 15 February , 2005 Share Posted 15 February , 2005 Ernie, if it is any use I have a spreadsheet with the full listing of battalion (died) casualties. Happy to send you a copy.
ErnieNoakes Posted 15 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 15 February , 2005 Hi Chris, If the spreadsheet is openable in MS Excess 2000, yes please. I've just finished Dec 1918, all I've got to do now is check the last 4 months, and I've finished. Can you open MS Access 2000 files? If so do you want a copy?
